CarryMore Tote Rental

FAQ

Common questions

Short, straight answers. Anything we missed, just ask.

How long can I keep the totes?

There is no guessing. You choose a rental length of 1 to 4 weeks when you book. Your confirmation shows both your delivery date and your pickup date.

How big are the totes?

Each tote holds 27 gallons.

Do you pack or move my things?

No. CarryMore Tote Rental LLC rents the totes and handles delivery and pickup. The packing and moving is yours to do or arrange with anyone you hire.

What if I need more totes or more time than the site offers?

The online grid goes up to 30 totes (about right for 4+ bedrooms) and 4 weeks. Need more than that? Get in touch and we will quote it for you directly.

When do you deliver?

Deliveries run in scheduled time windows, weekday evenings and weekend daytimes, including Saturday mornings. You pick your date at booking and then choose from the windows we run that day, so the calendar always shows the real options. Pickup is confirmed as a date, and we work out the timing with you as the day gets close.

Where do you deliver?

The site checks your ZIP before you pay, so an address outside the list cannot book by mistake. Not on the list? Ask us and we will let you know.

Is delivery extra?

No. Delivery and pickup are included in every price on the grid.

Do I need to be home for delivery and pickup?

No. If someone will be there, we hand the totes over. If nobody will be home, use the delivery notes box when you book to tell us where to leave them, along with a gate code or anything else we should know. Pickup works the same way: tell us where the totes will be and we will collect them.

How do I pay?

You pay online with a card through Stripe's secure checkout. Your card number goes straight to Stripe and is never stored on this site.

Is sales tax added?

Yes. Texas sales tax of 8.25% is added at checkout and shown as its own line before you pay.

Is there a deposit?

No. There is no deposit and no hold on your card. You pay once at booking, and we do not keep your card on file afterwards.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

Cancel at least 24 hours before your delivery and you get a full refund. Later than that, or once the totes are already on the way, we handle it case by case, so get in touch and we will sort it out with you. The full policy is in our Rental Terms.

Are the totes clean?

Yes. Every tote is cleaned and sanitized between rentals before it goes back out.

What if I damage or lose a tote?

If anything arrives cracked, broken, filthy or missing a lid, tell us within 24 hours of delivery and we will swap it at no charge. A tote that does not come back, or comes back damaged beyond repair, is charged at a single flat rate per tote, and we tell you before anything is charged. The amount and the full policy are in our Rental Terms.

Is it cheaper to rent moving totes or buy cardboard boxes?

It depends on whether you can get boxes free and how much your time is worth. Here is our side of it, stated exactly: 10 totes for 1 week costs $49, delivered and picked up. There is nothing else to buy: no tape, no box cutter, and no assembly. Free boxes from a store or a neighbor are still the cheapest way to move if you have time to collect them and do not mind that they are used. Once you are buying boxes new, the comparison gets closer than most people expect, because the sticker price is not the whole cost. You also pay in the time spent taping boxes together at the start and getting rid of them at the end.

What is the difference between renting moving totes and buying cardboard boxes?

Totes arrive ready to use and leave when you are done. Each one holds 27 gallons, has a lid, and stacks without collapsing, so there is no tape, no assembly, and no guessing whether the bottom will hold. Cardboard you buy, build, tape, fill, and then break down, flatten, and haul off yourself. The real difference is ownership: you keep boxes and you give totes back, so totes suit a move with a date on it rather than long term storage.

How do I move without buying cardboard boxes?

Rent the boxes instead of buying them. You choose how many totes and how many weeks, we deliver them to your door inside a window you pick, and we collect them when the rental ends. Nothing is left over afterwards, so there is no flattening, no storing, and no trip to the recycling center. See how it works for the full rundown.
